    Does it get any better?

OK, spent the weekend in Orlando at Disney, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot, as well as a reunion with others who have adopted internationally with the same agency we used for our 2 beautiful daughters. Got home yesterday afternoon and waiting in the mail were my new kilt hose from Sierra trading (thanks Auld_argonian), and fabric samples from Jeff at Pittsburgh Kilts.

To add to the delight, the tan AK I ordered last week was waiting for me at the office when I got in today and I am impressed. The only part I am unsure of is the hem. They use (at least on the one I received) an X or cross-stitch over the selvedge instead of turning under a 1/8 - 1/4 of material and using a straight stitch, which I think would look better. Not a big deal, but surprised me.

So tonight I am sitting here listening to my 2 new OffKilter Celtic Music CD's and my wife has agreed to let me order not 1 but TWO kilts from Jeff! One in a herringbone pattern for work, and one in a blue-gray lined with flannel that should be great for outdoor activities this winter.

The only thing that could make this day any better, other than possibly winning the lottery, is a private activity between my wife and I!

I was worried from the title of the post, initially. I thought it was a statement of frustration, and I was wondering what had happened to change to that from the good days at work!

Glad things are well for you in the kilt though

...and perhaps well for you out of the kilt, tonight?

No worries, things at work kilted are fantastic, and my 2 female colleagues are looking forward to the unveiling of the AK tomorrow!

As for tonight, a gentleman never tells, but any man can always hope!

Did you see Off Kilter at Epcot? I saw them at an Irish festival a couple years ago. They're wonderful.

Bob C., Yes, on their home turf at the Canada pavilion. They were great! Somebody else had posted a note when I mentioned we were going to Epcot to make sure to see them and I am glad we did. I was wearing my SW Standard kilt in their nightstalker tartan. Unfortunately, other than myself and the members of the band, there were no other kilts! :-(

Which hose were those? I see some called "Bridgedale Blaxnit Garland Socks" - is that what you're talking about, or something else? The ones I mentioned are an excellent price, if they work as kilt hose!

I know just how you feel, the other week I received my beautiful green USAK, then a lovely jacket and waistcoat, I have a new RKilts sporran on the way, and to keep me happy, several new CD's turned up, music I'd heard mostly on Highlander Radio.

Just how do I tell my wife?

Hey, KCW...are the socks adequately "business-like"? I know that you're getting your corporate-kilted look fine tuned and I hope that you've found them heavy enough without their looking too fuzzy or bulky.

Glad that your company sees fit to give you the room to wear the kilt...shows a good corporate spirit.

Perhaps you can talk them into commissioning their own tartan.

Morning Auld! See we are catching up on posts at the same time!
I think that they are fine for business casual. Not fuzzy at all, and except for the color, could easily pass for dress socks.

Everybody here has been very supportive about it. Some strange looks sometimes, but to be expected. And I like the idea about commissioning a company tartan! Have to think about who to approach on that. The company colors are red, white, and black, so should be able to come up with something interesting.

Andrew, yes, I got those and another style by Bridgedale. Wearing the cinammon pair today with my new tan AK and a dark pullover. They are plenty long enough and a nice thickness for colder weather. Search for the post by Auld_Argonian on hose, about 2 weeks ago, for the link to the other ones I got. They will probably be going back because they just are not long enough, unless I decide to keep them for casual, rolled down wear.
