Advice on tie colour
We have a formal function this weekend, 50th Anniversary of Scottish country dancing here.
I'll helping organise the event.
I plan wear a charcoal grey jacket, the Morrison modern kilt (below) and a white shirt. But what tie to wear, any suggestions?

A tie that matches the color of your jacket would look sharp, indeed.

Graham, Since you are going to wear a charcoal gray jacket with the kilt I would suggest a plain tie matched as close as possible to the red or maroon stripe in the tartan. Adds a little color and will pull the eye to the matching stripe in the kilt. Just my penny thought!
By the way, that is a nice looking kilt. Have a fun night out and tip one for me. Will you be dancing? :-D

I agree with ByDand: I think a maroon tie would look good. I must confess that on my monitor, your kilt appears to be black w/ a fine maroon stripe.
Bryan...I've got a good sound system, but a crappy monitor...

Yeah a Red Tie would be Sharp.
I always Like the small things to tie up, Like even Red flashes would be a cool thing as well.

I think matching the red in the kilt is the way to go. Also I would avoid a "glossy" looking tie.

Also would go with a red tie. Would pull some of the colour out of the kilt.

I'm going to have to go with a dark blue (navy) tie simliar to the kilt color. (I don't like maroon) But maroon would work. Just make sure its not a busy tie.
