Role Reversals
Flipping through the channels today I stopped on Fit Tv for a bit, watching a show on some ancient Indian martial art.
This western woman went to India to learn the martial art (which is really long, has a lot of vowels and consonants in an order I dont remember, and started with a "k").
One of the scenes showed her practicing the stances with one of the Masters, and he was unbifurcated in a traditional sort of skirt while she was in pants. In order for him to show her the proper leg positions he had to fold the skirt up and tuck it into his waistband, making it kilt length.
(The show is Deadly Arts, and the martial art is Kalaripayattu. The country is actually Kerala, and the western woman is Josette Normandeau)

Yes, indeed.
Kerala is the center of the Indian Orthodox Church, much persecuted, and very ancient.
I had a buddy from India in college who studied Kalaripayat. I don't remember where in India he was from, but he was Hindu.
Sounds like a good program.

The unbifurcated garment the man was wearing is referred to in South India as the lungi or dhoti. This is a kilt board, and Hank has specified that the discussions of other MUGs be kept to a minimum, but I'll chime in on this one...Below is a picture of my extended family in India at my Grandparent's 50th wedding anniversary. You'll notice all the men wearing such a garment
And now, back to your regular kilt-related programming...

Sav, can you reduce the size of this one for us? Something around 550 wide would be really nice.
