Pics from tonight's banquet!
I emceed a banquet of about 200 people, while kilted.
With the woman who is too good for me, but married me, anyway:

REAL men cut their chicken with dirks:

I used the dirk to open champagne bottles, too. I'd write more but I'm off to party.

Sorry I'm just a thick English man I had to look up "emceed"
Definitions: master or mistress of ceremonies: a person in charge of the proceedings at an event or entertainment
transitive and intransitive verb (past and past participle em·ceed, present participle em·cee·ing, 3rd person present singular em·cees)Definitions: be master of ceremonies: to act as a master or mistress of ceremonies for an event
[Mid-20th century.< MC2 "master of ceremonies"]
now that is one a good word

Thanks, everyone. The event was the statewide convention of the New York State Jaycees. It was the year-end convention, so they had an awards banquet and the installation of new officers.
I'm a former officer and an officer in an affiliated organization, so I help out when I can.
Graham, the tartan is Scottish Borderland, #5359 in the ITI. Of course, I got lots of nice comments, a few good-natured "nice dress" comments and a few people who asked "the question." People were really amazed when I opened the champagne bottles with my dirk. Actually, I was a little surprised that it worked, myself. I had read about it, but never tried it before.

Bob,
Please explain how to open a champagne bottle with a dirk. I have never heard of this method.
