Running in a kilt

Anyone ever run a road race in a kilt? I recently got back into running and am going to do a couple of races this summer and was wondering if I could wear a kilt for the races or if it would be too uncomfortable. I have seen that thing on the web that is advertised as a running kilt but is basically crap. I was thinking of a USA casual or a Sportkilt I'm looking to run a 10 miler in May which would probably be the longest race, unless I get motivated to do the 1/2 marathon in September.

I run in the Great North Run in north-east England in the autumn for a Scottish Charity in my black watch kilt which is a medium weight. I tie it up at the waist to make it a bit shorter so that I won't overheat and the swing of the kilt won't slow me down too much. It's a point to point half marathon from the finish of which there's a mile to walk to the train station, then usually a long queue for the train back to where I've left my car near the start so I take my sporran with me and carry a £10 note in it to pay for a snack lunch and train ticket, also to carry car keys. The sporran needs to be turned out to the side otherwise it will continuously bump against a sensitive area and cause considerable discomfort during the run. A comfortable pair of cotton underpants for modesty and to prevent the kilt wool chafing sensitive areas. You would also want to out on vaseline to protect the tender areas from chafing and the underwear will also help protect the kilt from becoming contaminated with vaseline which can be very corrosive to clothing.
