    I'm going to the UK!

My mother told my sister that she'd send her on a trip to anywhere in the world when she graduated college. Well, my sis graduates this spring and decided she was gonna take Trafalgar's tour of Great Britain. She kindly decided to bring me along. We will travel to England, Wales, Ireland, AND Scotland!!! I'm so excited! We leave from london on May 17th! Hooray! If this is off topic I'm sorry, I'm just really excited!

I have to wait three more months though. That is some serious Jonesin! I've been meaning to ask you, What kind of programming do you do? I did C++ when I was a Comp Sci major before studying theology.

How very exciting for you both, & how very nice of your mother to give such a nice gift. Congratulations to both of you.

Hooray for your sister! Glad that she invited you, but my only advice is to take me with you!

    Have fun!

For anybody not in IT, ignore this post!

Jeremiah, I think this was directed at me, since I have not seen any posts that indicate Robin does programming..

Anyway, a little bit of everything. Believe it or not, I started out doing Cobol with IMS DB/DC. Moved on to include DB/2 and CICS. then jumped on the client/server bandwagon with VB, C, C++, SQLWindows (Gupta), and Unix scripts. Nowadays I focus on Java, web delivery, application servers, and business intelligence tools. The team I have focuses heavily on the delivery of reports and business intelligence to internal and external customers.

A ironic coincidence, one of my best buddies when I was in consulting was an ex-priest who had left the priesthood to go into IT!

But a few of us are geeky enough to understand exactly what you said!!

BTW, you should leave the "/" out of the database name following IMS . . .

But back on topic -- Jeremiah, heartiest congrats! Sounds like a wonderful trip. (And like KCW, I'm quite jealous!)

    Regards,
    Mark

Let me know what your plans are for Wales - could meet up and have a beer or two.

Thanks guys, if you want to meet a fat theologian from Texas, I'm game. I'll be sure to bring this up again closer to the time of the trip.
