Kilted while shopping
Yesterday following my rugby team's bootcamp, I was heading home when for some reason I got the urge to do a quick check on a computer desk at Best Buy. I was in my camouflage UK Original and didn't really think much of the fact that I was going to go shopping in my kilt as I had been in it all day with no comments (except for a few smart arses on the team who I ignore).
I asked one sales person for help and all he could do was stare at my kilt. When he would talk to me, he would stare at the kilt. I finally said, "Thanks for admiring my legs, now let's talk about this desk. Can I get it delivered?" He stammered out something about going to go check but he never came back...I had a good laugh....

Even shopping in a supermarket, which I normally dread, is exciting when kilted!

Truth to tell, as often as my wife and I get to the stores and the mall it's very rare that anyone pays any attention to my kilt. Once in a great while someone will comment, generally positive, but it's rare. Just a nonevent.

My wife and I were just shopping on Saturday at the mall and I had my saffron duck cloth kilt on and we got lots of stares from people. The thing i noticed most of all was the children they aren't afraid to say exactly what they mean. Parents are funny cause to them it is such a shock as to what their child says to a guy in a kilt. I also find that a lot of elderly people are very interested when they see someone in a kilt, they alomost always had a relative that wore and they remember how handsome it was you always get a history lesson.

out shopping
spent all weekend in kilt, went to SW kilt night, had great time. Booked in hotel, 3 girls at reception desk, no one seemed to care about what I was wearing. Coming home we had to stop at Zellers department store, again no reaction to my wearing a kilt. We continued on and stopped at wal-mart, really nobody seemed to care. We also went to the Canadian Legion, some members came to talk to us, never mentioned anything about my kilt. Had a great time.
