What's your tartan avatar?
Recently, GMan posed the question of what some member's signatures mean when translated into English. I have been wondering about some of the avatars that members have used. They are often too small to really see their beauty or, in some cases, even make out the clan/state/etc. of the tartan.
How about those members, who use a tartan as their avatar, posting a reply to this and identifying your tartan avatar and/or provide a link to a better (larger) version of same.
Heck, even if you don't currently use a tartan as your avatar, perhaps you have a family or favorite tartan you'd like to present to the forum. I'm sure many of us would find that just as interesting.
Thanks,

State of Maine tartan
Although I don't currently use a tartan as my avatar, here is one that's dear to me and relatively unknown...
This is the State of Maine tartan, the oldest of the authroized U.S. State tartans. The two shades of blue are for the ocean and the sky, the green for the forests and the red is for the bloodlines of the people of Maine.

question...
I think longshadows was asking for those with tartan avatars. Not that there's anything wrong with the others! ![Wink](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif)

Yes, I did began my posting about tartan "avatars," but decided that it might be interesting to allow for others. (Some, like me, may not use a tartan as their avatar since their particular tartan "swatch" does not render well in such a small space.)
Then I went on and threw out that huge image of the Maine State tartan, which is not my avatar. So, I'd say, as long as the site moderators don't mind and the bandwidth can handle it, let's look at all sorts of interesting tartans.
If your tartan has a story, I invite you to relate it.
