What's going on in your area for Tartan Day?
Denver, CO: Saturday, April 8, 2006 - Colorado Tartan Day , Hyland Hills Golf & Entertainment Complex, 96th and Sheridan (9620 Sheridan Blvd.), Westminster, Co 80030
•
Kilted Golf Tournament: 10:00 a.m., check-in at 9:00 a.m.; Cost: $95.00/person. Includes 18 hole Best-Ball Tournament Green Fees, cart, range balls, lunch/beverage, and prizes! Laddies in kilt and Lassies wearing any tartan or a crest badge receive a free mulligan!

Highland Tea in the beautiful Garden Room: 1:00 p.m. Cost: $15.00/adults, $10.00/children (12 & under.) Seating limited to only forty. Reservations required in advance. Entertainment provided by the outstanding young fiddlers of Celtiori.
• RenScots: 11:00am – 4:00pm, Free. The Renaissance Scots encampment outdoors on the grass will include battle reenactments, blacksmithing, medieval weaponry, weaving demonstrations and much more.
• Scottish Clan Hospitality Tents: 11:00am – 4:00pm, Free. Visit the Clan hospitality tents adjacent to the RenScots, at the wee grassy knolls of the Hyland Hills of Tyroll, to learn all about the Scots who played a significant role in founding and developing the civilization and country we call the United States of America.
• Information / Education Displays & Talks: 11:00am – 4:00pm, Free
- Frank McGaugh, author of "Tartans Color Writing" lectures on how to read the pattern in ancient tartans based on the Celtic Tree System that was used by the ancient Gaelic alphabet.
- Valerie Cunningham displaying and demonstrating celtic crafts made from tartan.
- Diane Milne displays and lectures on the art of quilt making.
- Genealogy and Name Search for Clan Affiliations tables and more in the banquet room.
• Indoor Solo Piping Contest: 11:00am, limited entry, with the history/traditions of bagpipe music being played. This competition will be run according to Western U.S. Pipe Band Association requirements. Contact Neil Gillette, competition chair by email or by phone at 303-691-3656.
• Tartan Day Ceremonial Event: 4:00pm, Free. Tattoo (Drum and Pipe Bands concert) from the 1st Fairway at the Clubhouse Veranda. Massed Bands and Individual Band performances, along with Highland Dancing, March of the Clans, special guests. Seating and programs provided.
• Tartan Day Buffet Dinner & Ceilidh: 5:30pm, Adults $15, children 12 & under $7; ceilidh without food adults $5, children 12 & under $2. Choice of Shepherd's Pie and Pasta headline the buffet dinner offerings. And, of course, a wee taste of Haggis! Ceilidh follows at 6:30 pm with piping, Highland dancing, Scottish Country Dancing, maybe fiddling, sword-fighting, songs and story-telling.

Nothing going on in central PA, which is why a group of us are going to the Tartan Day Parade in NYC. Only about 4 1/2 hours away but well worth the trip!

In the Netherlands....nothing
but...I'll wear my Isle of Skye during the day and I'll wear my Freedom Kilt at work...another kilted (almost ex...) cook
This sunday a kiltshop south of Rotterdam declared April 9th as Tartan Day, they organise a gathering...I'll be there

Just one more reason
This is just one more reason that I am not going to do a third tour. I miss tartan day, i miss bridge day in West "by God" Virginia, all the highland festivals, etc. Next year....I dont think I am going to work much, just do lots of catching up.
Everyone have a great time for me, take many photos and post them!

Looking online, I don't see much of anything happening in the greater Richmond area.
