New favorite bar
So I'm walking around Las Vegas after a convention, and what do I see...
In the Rio Casino there is a bar called the Tilted Kilt. (I knew there was one in Texas, but didn't know it was a chain.) Well, after the bad experience at the so-called Irish Pub in the Casino where I was staying (bad service, an 11oz pint that they didn't pour properly, and the fact that it was really a sports bar with some older styled wood accents and Guinness signs on the wall) I just had to go inside.
The Tilted Kilt can pour a proper pint! I'm happy again!
(Also, the servers were so kind they let me take a picture)

My wife and I will be heading to Vegas a year from now for our 10th wedding anniversary. I won't be bringing any pants or shorts with me, just kilts. That bar is definitely on the agenda of places that must be visited.

There's another Tilted Kilt in Tempe, Arizona
I've never been in there. Bars aren't really for me. Too much smoke and noise in most of them, and with the smoking bans going in so many places, people just seem to drink more and get more obnoxious.

Personally, I'm glad I don't patronize establishments like this...sex sells just about everything, doesn't it? Places like this are just not my cup o' tea.

Nor mine, but neither would I begrudge the man who just wants a bit of eye candy with his pint.

Looks like a great place, Seamus, and if they pour a proper pint, even better!

Well, its nowhere near a local pub for me, but I would definitely enjoy hoisting a pint there, well poured or not. If that makes me crass and shallow, so be it. My wife has said I can look as long as I don't touch, so I can still enjoy looking at women other than her.
Have to keep this in mind for my next conference in Vegas.
Mathuna, how many other kilted people were in the pub, other than you and the wait staff? And what convention were you attending?

I've been to the one in the Rio... I loved it! I hope it catches on like Hooters so we can enjoy them in our own cities!!
At the Green Valley Ranch Casino in Henderson NV. there is a real cool Irish pub called Fado..

I may have to visit Las Vegas
