    First kilt

I just bought my first kilt yesterday! My wife and I attended the Celtic Fling at the PA Renn Faire grounds and after multiple e-mails back and forth with Michael Butler at Amerikilts I finally got to pick one up. I bought it first thing so I could wear it all day. I'm already hooked and my wife loves it too. It's sort of a dark olive color not listed on their web site. Now... that microfiber suede prototype they had hanging would look great too...

It's a Renaissance Festival, celebrating the medieval times. Lots of fun!

Ah, we learn all the time. We have one of these here in Hawick last weekend in March but here we call it a Reivers Festival.

Well, actually it celebrates Renaissance times, not medieval. Two separate historical periods, although the Renaissance started at different times in different parts of Europe.

And of course, the costumes you see patrons wearing range from the Dark Ages to the Colonial period, but that's a whole different issue.

Congratulations on that first kilt. I have an Amerikilt in Desert Digital Camo that I really like. If you are like many of us, you may eventually have a collection of traditional and contemporary kilts.

OH! OH! Now you've done it. It's not going to stop with just one you know. Next thing you know you'll be taking an additional job, a second mortgage on the house and the kids will wonder whose gonna get sold first.

Welcome from Northeast Florida. I just sold one of my guitars to pay for my fourth (but first 16 oz 8 yd traditional) kilt. If I'm not careful I'll soon be down to a pennywhistle.

    Congratulations on your new kilt.

    Cheers! Bill
