Plant Badge: Heraldry for common Scots

I've decided to start a new thread in an effort to give a hint to a better idea instead of feathers in your bonnet. It's easy, put a twig of a plant in your bonnet, behind your crest badge instead. To be even more accurate use your clans actual plant badge. Like this photo:

Juniper, plant badge for Clan Gunn and a few others..

If you can't obtain your actual plant badge, use any old twig of plant. Nearly no one will no the difference.

    plant badge

Great idea, Daniel! I'll try to get a photo of my bonnet with the Cumin plant behind my badge soon!

    Cheers,

I was thinking of finding myself a laurel plant for this purpose, but on the other hand...I never wear headgear.

    Low priority

Not quite the same effect if tucked behind the ear, I suppose. Eh?

At any moment you must be prepared to give up who you are today for who you could become tomorrow.

It's odd how many so called lists of clans often do not include "Henderson." Anyway, Henderson is cotton grass or "bog cotton." I think it'd look quite nice on a bonnet. I do need some more traditional headgear.... hmm... Great thread BTW. I'll post up some piccies if I ever get to that...
