new from Pennsylvania to Virginia
i'm a new kilt wearer here, and happy to have discovered the "skirlin skirts"
i don't have any idea why i've never worn these before the first only 3 years ago...
now the proud wearer of 5 or so SWK's and a mocker, and 2 amerikilts.. and a sports.
finding hose that doesn't bust me is a trip, but got some from celtic croft..
will be getting a welsh kilt from them soon..
i really like the irish kilts, the plaids are really bright. it just goes to show, if you get one, they multiply...
next thing will be different sporrans..
i've worn these to weddings and cruises..
and they WORK!
as good as a pheromone cologne..
on cruises, they work better than anything! i was on a nude cruise, ( i know, i know...but ) it's amazing how one guy in a kilt on a nude cruise can get more attention than a whole boat of nekkid guys...
the gals loved it..and the island folk were very friendly...
if i had discovered this 10 or 15 years ago, i'd be in real trouble..
i do find the SWK a bit long..
and i like the look of combat boots with them..
i find a simple sports or dress jacket works them great, and the less add ons the better the effect.
scrunched down hose is absolutely the best look with rugged day shoes..
my ex girl friend refuses to let me come over wearing them..
but that's why i go on the cruises alone...
fair is fair..
there are enough clan fests between ligonier and richmond to keep me happy, haven't tried the scottish walk of alexandria yet..
had enough hands up the kilt at dances, to have made it all worth while...
sad to see the pittsburgh kilts giving it a rest for the while, hope to see him back. i want a camo job as well as a welsh, and god knows whatever...
i wonder how they look with knee high cowboy boots?
( non pointed toe) BUT i figure, we're all free men, whatever works...
and i NEVER put mine on backwards!!!
and MANY thanks to all of you for posting places to buy "stuff".

Welcome to the forum. Are you planning on being at the Richmond games at the end of this month?

yep sir, richmond on the 28th or 29.
i've already spent all my scots allowance in ligonier on 2 pairs of hose, who'd a thought argyles would be so much?!
but am going to hear the pipes, and see what's new...( to me never been there before)
i hear it's big so....
and it's much closer than idlewild park.

lots of STUFF !
i didn't know there were THAT many events !!!
i gotta highlight my dates for next year..
too many scots, not enough drambuie...
i think i'll only make the Richmond thingy, and possibly the walk for this year..
(sigh)
BUT, y'all, (or as a former pittsburger, yunz...) are right, kilts are addicting..
and all the neat other stuff...shortbread not excluded..
i'm even liking stone cut oats...
you know it's bad when one can look real hard at hunting gear, to see if the tops of wader socks are the right hight and colour for kilts...
( they ARE the right price! hey, thats scottish!!!)
or welsh...although the scotts smile more....or is that a grimace?
ok outta here...i get too excited...got to sort out kilt stuff for a trip, and a cruise...
..later

Hi there
Welcome from the Yorkshire Dales, UK.
Good to hear of a Prothero as a best friend is a Prothero, near Abergavenny, Wales. - Not got him into a kilt yet, but going for a waistcoat!
Phil
