Maryland kilt sighting.. 2 weeks in a row!!

Wow.. Went to Poplar Springs Animal Sanctuary for their annual fund-raising benefit/picinic yesterday. I was kilted, of course, wearing my Stillwater Nightstalker..

Anyway, within 10 minutes of getting there, I saw another person wearing a traditional kilt.. I eventually caught up with him and it turns out he was from Scotland and said he was wearing his family tartan (Hunter). He also said that he didn't expect to see anyone else wearing a kilt..

So, did a conversation ensue? Usually the first thing people want to know is what tartan you're wearing.

He did ask me if I was Scottish and when I said no, he seemed instantly disinterested.

    Oh well.

How excellent that you met up with one wearing the most attractive of all tartans*!

    Cheers

I had a similar experience at the highland games in Chatham Ontario this past summer. A very Scottish lady complimented me on the kilt I was wearing - (Xmarks tartan) - and asked me if I was from Scotland. When I revealed I was born in Ontario, she looked puzzled, shrugged, and said... "Well *pause* it's a nice tartan anyway"

Other Scots I've run into thought it was great.

    People can be funny sometimes.
