    hey, is the philabeg a 4-yard kilt, roughly speaking?

    generally, they're closer to 5 yards, depending on measurements and the size of the sett.

    For Example... a 40 Inch waist in Scottish National will use 5.2 yards
    a 40 Inch waist in Royal Stewart will use 5.4 yards
    a 40 inch Ramsay (pleated to the STRIPE) will use 4.5 yards

    We feel that 4 yards just isn't quite enough material for the average size guy, sao we try to keep it around 5 yards for a 40 (average size guy) waist. Hope this info helps...

    Yeah, but River, you've got a job...if I buy just one to try out, I won't be able to buy ANYTHING for the next 4 months...so I'm safe!
