Maybe daughter can change mom’s attitude

My wife’s adult daughter and 2 baby girls (1 ½ & 3 ½) have come to live with us for an undetermined amount of time. The husband in this arrangement is oop: and needs a :buttkick: He is not abusive, he is just too lazy to go to work and support a wife & 2 daughters. He spends every waking hour playing on-line combat games. A job interferes with gaming. So she said “Bye!" :redmad:

The daughter knows I wear kilts, but has never seen me in one. Saturday afternoon my wife & I were getting ready for the opera. As I stepped out of the bedroom the girl was walking through the hall. She stopped and pointing to the kilt, “I like that Dave.” I responded, “I wish your mom did.” About that time my wife came into the hall from the living room. The daughter looked at her mother in disbelief and said “Mom, I can’t believe you don’t like men in kilts!” Maybe the girl can change her mom’s attitude. That would make me happy.

My wife is from the same school, only hers was in Mexico. I guess A man does not look like a man unless he is wearing a pair of trousers like the rest of the men in there life.
I just say "YES DEAR" then put on the kilt.

Don't understand women not liking men in kilts... Rates right up there with the Marine Corp Dress blues for getting my attention.

I think a lot of women feel threatened that they will no longer be the center of attention if the man they are with creates a stir whilst kilted.

Either that, or they feel they will be judged somehow if they are not as "dressy" as a man in a kilt is perceived to be. People think kilts are formal dressy things, and a woman may feel slouchy compared to a dapper looking gent in a kilt.

My wife was OK with the look. But she didn't like the idea of the extra attention it would bring outside of a highland games or special event. She used to it and rarely makes a comment any more.

I guess I must be lucky. My wife doesn't mind my wearing kilts at all.
Both my family and hers have seen me in kilts and they don't bat an eye.
Even my 82 year old Dad commented the other day when I picked him up for dinner that I should have brought an extra along for him!
That would be something to see, I don't think I've ever seen him in shorts-although he would look smashing, wooden leg and all
