    Dinner with friends

Well, last night we had an after-work dinner for a couple at work who are getting married next week. A small group went to a local beer&wings kind of place. I changed into my kilt before I went and surprised everyone.

This was the first time I've gone kilted somewhere that wasn't a festival or small family gathering. Of course I had a great time, and everyone else was making me stand up all night to check out the kilt. One man's wife told him he needed one, and another guy was telling his wife "See, that's what I've been wanting."

Walking through the restaurant I noticed people checking it out, but no one said anything.

Good food, good friends and a good kilt. Can't beat that.

I've come to learn that most people (especially in a crowded place like a restaraunt) won't say much. Great report.

Good to hear you had a great experience.
I too believe that most people (unless they've had a few too many) won't say anything but positives. They will sure look though!
It gets easier each and every time.

It was pretty easy, I wasn't too worried about anyone's reaction.
This is Alabama, so it's pretty much the redneck captial of the world, but I'm in the city that put men on the moon, so it's also pretty diverse.

Feels good to wear a kilt out and about, doesn't it? Glad that you had a good time.

I wonder . . . what is it about the kilt that women love so much?

I have a couple of theories. The kilt is a decidedly masculine garment, and women find that extra measure of masculinity sexy. Or perhaps, for some, it is the matter of the Question. There are a lot of women who have sex drives to match or even rival those of men.

    Just a thought.

Now THAT is "the Question" isn't it?
All I know is that a good number of them do love it.
I guess we'll just have to learn to accept what is...
