Haiku for the Kilted
Ok, on another thread, some of you were hijacking the thread and writing fine haiku. Here's a thread all to itself to post away.

Haiku is easy,
Five for the first, seven for
the second, then five.
SOKS will be meeting,
This Thursday at Scottish Rite,
with others kilted.
While wearing kilt, the
Canuck felt morning breezes,
Keep his jewels cool.

There are rules here. Each line of the Haiku must be self contained and not spill over to the next line.

Don't feel bad, I am still working hard to master this medium my self. Very difficult.
I think it would be great if every XMarker posted in Haiku for just one day.

I've always understood that one of the key aspects of a haiku is that one should be able to ascertain the season of the year that's being written about...usually through a reference to something associated with the season; rain, snow, etc.
Makes it a wee bit tougher, eh?

Yes, I think that's true in the original Haiku... but then it's also being written in another language. That hasn't been followed as much in the the western adaptation of Haiku.
January? June?
The seasons pass; we might not.
English class? A pain.
