Modern Sgain Possibilities
Still seeking the elusive sgain dubh that is just right for me. I just don't have the time to put into making one right now. Anyway I found this little beauty

I'm thinking about buying it and cutting the handle material away and mounting it to a more traditional handle (wood, horn, antler,...)
Just thinking out loud

I've been thinking about something similar - but the thought of having to come up with a decent sheath has delayed my working on it. Guess it shouldn't - the sheath doesn't really ever have to show, does it?

Cavscout, If you are going to the trouble to put on a new handle consider this damascus blank.
http://www.ancientarms.biz/servlet/Detail?no=107
I am working on my second with this blank.
First

In the works

The blank is 20.70 including shipping.
It is not sharp when received and can be left that way or sharpened as I have done.
