The Frugal Corner?
Has anyone ever done business with www.thefrugalcorner.com? I'm contemplating a kilt from them, but would like some information on them. Their customer comments page seems a little.... made up.

No business personally, but I remember seeing a lot of bad stuff about them on another forum.
Order of the Dandelion, The Houston Area Kilt Society, Bald Rabble in Kilts, Kilted Texas Rabble Rousers, The Flatcap Confederation, Kilted Playtron Group.

yeah, those comments do seem suspicious. however, to argue the other side. it appears they get alot of business from Ebay. and those do look like a standard ebay comments. Ebay comments are usually lacking in substance cause you are forced or strongly encouraged to fill out a comment; and the average person just isn't as verbose as the many fine brilliant minds found here in this forum.
i want to hear more about them as well. those prices have my attention (as they would any good Scot).
hey, somebody invite them to Xmarks.

Also to point out although it should be apparent the material is described as "13oz. or 16oz." but doesn't say what the material is. Wool, P/V, Acrylic, mixture?

Nevermind found this description on one of the ebay listings.
"These kilts are a special blend of polyester that has the look of real wool. These are wonderful kilts for the person that is allergic to wool or does not want to spend $300 on a wool kilt. This special blend is easy to care for and can be washed in on gentle in warm water and dried on low. The standard drop is 24 Inches (Waist to Knee). Leather buckles on both sides allow for adjustments in size."

Yeah... I'm contemplating getting one. I may wait until June though. I made a bet with a classmate that I would at some point wear pants to school before the school year ended. (That poor fool... ) Right now the bet's at $5. Tomorrow Im'm gonna say 'Man, I'm really starting to miss pants... (Which is a complete and total lie.) Wanna raise the bet to $70?' I'm so fiendish...

The kilts they sell are made at the same factory in Pakistan that SWK gets there's. I've attempted contact with them but not received any response. The price looks nice but I imagine you'd be hard-pressed to get the service from them that you will from SWK or the other kilt makers already with a relationship with this forum.
I'd spend the little extra and deal with those who've proven themselves here.
Now granted, they say they are carrying tartans that SWK isn't, so that factors in a bit also.

These are very poorly made Pakastani kilts... Most of the time the pattern in the back isn't even to the stripe or the sett... It is just pleated, and poorly. These are the exact same sorts of kilts being sold by dozens of other ebay vendors... They are even using the same product picture.
Spend a few pennies more and get a Stillwater, which is at least made well and comes from a reputable vendor.

While some pakistan kilts as poorly made, we do not do business with those weavers.
202 ebay comments
200 positive
1 negative (Slow Shipping {they gave us the wrong address]
1 neutral (we could not deliver ontime and refunded the money)...
if we were selling the poorly made kilts we would have many more negative comments
