Kilted at the San Francisco Zoo

One of my stops this weekend (when I wasn't dodging falling Interstate ramps) was the San Francisco Zoo. I was sporting my new USAK PV US Army Tartan (but with a "standard" belt and sporran, not the pistol belt/ammo pouch).

Had three notable comments - the first from a young man (20s) who came around a corner, saw me, and said "Kilt! Cool! I like it!" The second came from a lady in her 60s who passed me a few times, and made a point of coming up and saying how nice it was to see someone in a kilt, how it was a "special treat" for her. The third (and most entertaining for me) was a young woman (late teens) who appeared to be a bit under the influence. She and her partner were wandering around the zoo, and she was using him for support a lot of the way. On one of her passes by, she gave a little giggle and did the "I'm waving but I don't want my boyfriend to see me waving" thing.

Some nice interludes on a beautiful day in the Bay Area!

    Fearnest,

Too bad we had you in the beautiful Bay Area but all the kilted had fled up the Woodland Games. Next time you are in town gives us some warning and we can try to set up a kilt night.

    Glad you liked the Zoo.

    Cheers

Thanks - it was a (very) short notice trip for me! Perhaps next time.
