    SWK Nightstalker Sporran - Suggestions?

Ok, I've had mine for about a year now, and I just love it. I really dont wear the leather sporrans anymore since I got the nightstalker.

However, it isnt perfect. How could it be made perfect? After a year of regular use I've identified a few things I'd like to see in the next version.

    1. Some sort of key clasp on the inside. Park the car, drop the keys inside, then do your daily business (taking out money, wallet, cell phone, etc...) The keys get buried. Something simple like a dog leash clip attached to the inside back liner, near the top and I could clip my keys and keep them accessible.

    2. I.D./credit card slots. I'd like to see some wallet style slots on the inside of the front face (open the main zipper pocket, and the inside of the "away" side as you wear it). I'd like to be able to take just my ID and a couple of credit/debit cards instead of my whole wallet. I could just drop the cards in loose, but that makes them harder to find later and leads to the mag strip getting scratched up.

    3. QUIETER ZIPPER PULLS!! Really, this is the one I could live without the least, but would make me the happiest to see. When you walk the zipper pulls constantly jingle. I'm thinking of trying some of that dip on tool handle coating to try and silence them.

Anyone have any other suggestions, or comments on the ones I made? Hopefully either Jerry sees this or we can send him a link.

For your zippers, remove the metal pulls and use 2 mil or 550 cord as a replacement pull.

I don't own a Nightstalker Sporran (yet),but with my regular sporrans, I take whatever cash I want to carry, my driver's license, and mt credit cards and put one of those small elastic hair ties that the ladies use for pony tails and such. I put the license between my two credit cards to protect the magnetic strips on them and then wrap the cash around the whole bundle before putting the hair tie around to hold everything together.

You've identified two of the features I offer in my custom sporrans. I include a cell phone/credit or business card pocket with pen slot, and have just started featuring a key keeper - the kind that comes apart and you just push back into the shaft to connect.

I have found that wallets are relatively easy to dig out, but cell phones and keys tend to migrate south, and I am always pulling out the phone. The bonus is that with the phone on vibrate, the whole sporran tends to notify you when there's a call. Y'know, sometimes I call myself and just let it ring......... WOOHOO!

About two years ago (1 ¾ years before being kilted) I found an Eddie Bauer shoulder bag that looks a lot like the Nightstalker Sporran. It’s about 8-9 inches square and about 3 inches deep. When I saw it I knew that it would work as a great sporran. Some of the features I like about this bag are:
    • Cell phone pocket on the side.
    • Zipper on the top flap – I put my keys and money clip here.
    • Two inside pockets
Front pocket has a zipper on three sides and opens with a gusset.
This also has pockets for pens and a few credit cards.
Main pocket only has a zipper at the top and can hold way too much stuff.
    • There is also a pocket on the back that closes with a hook and loop closure. This could easily be a place to put your wallet if carried separate for cash/credit cards and you want quicker access than the inside pocket.

As a day wear general purpose sporran I love it. Its only problem is that it is in black and you know that you can ONLY wear brown during the day.

I pin either my clan badge or X-Marks (my other clan) badge on the front flap for a little bling.

I would love to have one in leather with these features. My only change would to add a easy access pocket of sun glasses.
