Canada Day
July 1st is fast approaching and many of us now have our Maple Leaf kilts. My question is how are you going to celebrate Canada day? I, myself don't know quite yet but I hope to be out in nature with my kids. For sure I will be kilted and you all know what tartan it'll be.
By the way you don't have to be Canadian to help us celebrate. Just have to raise a glass and say "Happy 140th, Canada".

Well, I'm stuck in Alabama, as most of you know, but I'm a pretty hardcore Canadian, so:
Since it is a Sunday, I expect I will get up early, breakfast on back bacon, and then go to church in my 16 oz. maple leaf kilt, maple leaf tie, and argyll jacket, with my Canadian flag pin, Canadian coat of arms pin, and my Anglican Church of Canada pin on the lapels. When I come home, I'll wash down my lunch with a bottle of Molson's. My wife and I will kill most of the afternoon watching episodes of "Due South" on DVD, then dine on tourtière, and close out the day reading Northrop Frye or Marshall McLuhan, finally falling asleep under a Hudson’s Bay Company blanket.
And just to be fun, I might go through the whole day speaking French...

My best friend's birthday is the Friday before, and the BC Highland Games on that Saturday. I'll most likely be hung over, or working on the NEXT hangover!

I'm not Canadian, but I have Canadian friends and I always enjoy my visits there. I'll hoist a Labatt Blue and sing a verse of O, Canada in honor of our good friends to the north.

I have a nice 4-day long weekend that weekend. If Karen is able to get the 1st off, we'll probably head south into Montana on the Harley. Not very Canadian of us, but we don't get many opportunities to have a decent weekend together and we've wanted to ride down to Glacier Nat'l Park for ages.
If she doesn't get the time off, or if the weather is crappy, we'll stay home and celebrate our country's birthday in proper style.
