    Improvised Kilt hangers

I'm not sure if this has been done before, but when I try to do a search for it my computer freezes.

Anyway... now that I have four kilts and another two coming I realised I can't squeeze them all into the same hanger anymore.
Watching a neighbour hang out their laundry I realised that clothes pegs would probably be an inexpensive way to hang my kilts.
So I filed some grooves into existing hangers and glued clothes pegs onto them.
Took about five minutes and worked a treat.
    Here are some pictures.

In this one the string is still tied around the pegs while the glue is setting.

And here are my kilts hung on the hangers.
The one on the far left is my $20 hanger and the rest are my 20 cent hangers.
And the 20 cent hangers seem to be holding my kilts a lot better.

Very clever, Arlen. Let's hope the springs hold out on those clothespins!!

Steve at Freedom Kilts is quite right.

I picked up four cheap plastic skirt or pant hanger at the PX where I work. They come in two lengths, btw, and I took the longer ones.

Two minutes of folding and clipping and I have four hangers securely holding my kilt. I can almost hear the wrinkles falling out and hitting the floor.

Thanks, Steve, for a great solution.

I am of the larger sized kilt wearer and have found that the normal skirt/pants hanger too short. If I fold the kilt enough to be adequately supported the thickness will not allow the hanger to close. I decided to try a three hanger approach. I fold the kilt so the pleats are not folded and use two skirt hangers, one on each end of the kilt. I then hang this by a third "normal" triangle style hanger. I hang my kilts on the back of the closet door where there is plenty of room.

I also just received one of StillWater's Deluxe kilt hanger. This is about 16" long and I think it is great. It cost $6.50 for one or a 6-pack for $29.50.

As a man of size, this is what has worked for me:

Use two regular pant hangers. Clamp them at the top of the kilt, side by side with about 2 inches in between. Pick the kilt up by the hangers and fold it at the 2 inch gap. Now the two hangers should be next to each other.. Hang away!
