What to do with your old "saxon" attire?

Ok - After one has come over from the dark side, and you are wearing kilts, all the time..

What do you do with all your old "saxon" clothes

I have closets full of striped dress shirts, hawaiian shirts, striped golf shirts, jeans, (shudder) bermuda shorts (shudder), really loud ties, sport jackets, etc, etc, etc, -that I just don't wear anymore.

    Now what?

Sure there is Good Will, the DAV, Salvation Army thrift shop, but my frugalness (cheapness!) won't let me go that route with everything. Oh I can donate some things, but..............

Some of the sport jackets can be converted to kilt jackets, the striped golf shirts can be used to wax the pick-em-up, but those lovely hawaiian prints?

Get yourself some solid color kilts so you can wear the patterned shirts again.

Navy Relief is a good place to donate, consignment stores can be a lower stress way to sell than the ol'e yard sale. I would see if there are any consignment stores near you. Don't know about that thar coast you live on. Back east they are near most population centers. Also have seen thrift stores that sell second hand items on consignment.

I am actually bifurcated right now. It keeps them guessing and it lets me get some more use out of clothes that are bound for the abyss.

    James,

Last year before, what the court calls "Dissolution of Marriage" started my weight was 330 Lbs. One year later I am down to 260 lbs. My 22 1/2" neck is down to 18 1/2", I went from XXXL and XXXXL to now L and XL. With that said I had alot of real expensive Suits and Dress Shirt, I just donate them to A men's charity to dress men for job interviews and new jobs. I wanted my good cloth to go to someone who wanted to better myself.

I am also still trying to loss more weight, that one of the reasons I has been buying kilt from Frugal Corner. If I do have another big weight loss, I won't have alot tied up in kilts that don't fit me. And if that happen I will still replace them with FC kilt because of the value and quality.

    Kid Cossack,

Thank you, right now my kilts are 44/46, but a friend gave me a really nice kilt size 40 that hangs in my bedroom as a goal.

Good plan, Shriner! I also have a kilt presently too small to wear hanging in the closet for exactly the same reason. It's a really good motivator.

    Best regards

I have never heard of a similar organization out my way. Sounds good, I'll look into it.
Although, to some, wearing a hawaiian print would not better oneself!

    James,

How about EBay? Somebody out there will buy your stuff. There are even consignment stores that will sell your stuff on EBay for you (for a price).
