    Another Oconee Leather Review

Well, I have finally gotten the photos off of my wife’s camera, and can give a bit of a review for my Oconee Leather Works belt and Sporran hangers. Actually all comments include the fine quality of my sporran strap as well, it’s just that since I’ve tried on the hangers, I haven’t yet gone back to the strap, sort of saving it for formal occasions.

On to the review the leather is supple yet firm. The workmanship is first rate the Celtic knot work on the belt is nicely incised and is really good looking.

What is the most amazing of all to me is the special design work that Steve went through to accommodate my desire to use a Navajo buckle with my Kilt belt. He figured out a system that works very nicely, using Velcro and a clever little tab.

As to the Sporran hangers, I think they are superb! Much better than fussing with a belt and a strap, and my sporran is always where I expect it to be.

A tip of the bonnet to Steve. For his fine workmanship, his willingness to quickly respond, and his diligence in working out details for my unusual project. The process was fun, and the final results are much appreciated.

I hope the pictures give some idea as to how nice this belt and my buckle look together.

    Cheers,

That's a great solution to the buckle with the belt, and I admire it greatly. My sporran hangers have made me quite happy, and Steve is a pleasure to work with.

The belt on the right side of the buckle looks kind of scratched up. Is that because of the way the buckle attaches?

That is a great combination. Steve really does good work. I have one belt and set of sporran hangers and Steve will be my first choice for another.

    Mr MacDougall,

Yes, they are a bit scratched, it seemed to happen when I was getting things adjusted, and getting used to all of the sliding components.

Hopefully, I will be able to get this smoothed over.

I really enjoy them, and am looking forward to acquiring a higher end sporran.

    Cheers,

That was a fun buckle to work with MM. Depending on how deep those scratches are a coat or two of shoe polish should buff them out pretty good. Let me know if there's a problem cleaning them up.

It's great to see the other pics also. I like this one, it shows how great of a time you were having

I'm pleased with Steve's work myself! I just received a package of goodies, including a belt, a sporran belt and some hangers and everything is top notch.
