That is the thing Riverkilt has been praising for a while now (search "gizmo" or "black & decker")
I probably should get me one of those . . . for minor "touch-ups" of course.

I don't think I would want to do a whole kilt with one, but it works great for touch-ups.

That's a pretty neat gizmo. I have a Rowenta iron that will do the steam surge thing from the upright position; you can steam out wrinkles on pv kilts pretty quickly. I haven't tried it on wool pleats yet, but it wworks on my camel hair sport coat.

I'm going to get one to take on my up-coming cruise. It looks perfect for traveling.

Be aware that the cruise lines seem to be limiting that. I took mine on my cruise last spring and was unable to use it. The room didn't have any open outlets. But there was a laundry room with an iron available just down the hall.

Now that may have to do with the age of the ship. The ship I was on only started in February, so onlder ships may still have the outlets open.

There were probably some incidents with people using outlets improperly, so they are limiting them.

I don't know the whole story, but I thought you could use a heads up.

That was my first thought. We never go on a cruise w/o a laptop, two rechargeable two-way radios, two iPods etc.

They have all prohibited irons though due to danger of fire.

You're right! I just looked in the booklet that was sent to me, and it prohibits irons!

Well, it seemed like a good idea.
