A White Kilt Kit
Greetings,
I was just wondering if anyone knew where I could get a white kilt and jacket to match. It might be awhile before I aquire it, but if anyone has any resources I'm not familiar with, I'd be quite appreciative.

I saw photos of a man being married in that, but can't now remember where I saw it. I think maybe he was selling it on Ebay a few months ago.

Don't know about Ebay, but I do remember seeing pictures of a male model in a white kilted outfit, perhaps on beach. This ring a bell with anyone?
Best regards,
Jake

Minus the boards and with silver buttons it works great with no alterations. It already has the cutaway that works well with the kilt. The price from Marlow White isn't to bad but you can do better if you source it from a uniform store that supplies cruise ship officers.
If you can't find them online you can try a Miami directory.

Actually the pic I found is a Navy Mess jacket. The cruise ship uniforms are identical though just different epaulets and buttons. I actually had one of these about 22 years ago for my kilt when I got married to my first wife. Hence why I don't have any pics.
I picked it up at a store in Miami, paid around $60 for the jacket and they did the sleeves for free. I found white braiding for the epaulets and I replaced the gold tone buttons with kilt buttons. It work fantastic with my Black Stewart kilt. The guys in the shop thought I was nuts but they sold it to me. Unfortunately it stopped fitting about 10 years ago and I gave it away.

Well the kilt would have been better than those white shorts they always wore

Yes - 21st Century Kilts shows a white kilt in their gallery, presumably meant to depict a beach wedding. Look under "Storm Shoot." TFCK could certainly make the whole white kilt ensemble for you, if you want.
I think Hamish has one of these white kilts, actually.
Regards,
Rex.

Yes, TFCK will be more than pleased to tailor a white kilt suit for you. Howie himself was married in just such a suit (well, it was cream linen) in June.
And, yes, I do have a white TFCK kilt (circa 2002), but not a matching jacket. WOW! I should love to have a white tweed Argyll!!!
Here is the TFCK model:

I would think long and hard about a white kilt, I have a tartan which is predominantly white and it just isn't isn't up to long term use.
At the end of the day its your choice and you may be getting it for a one off occassion but I feel you money could be better spent

I cannot imagine wearing a white kilt. I am building one from natural colored canvas that is sort of white, but it will quickly become something else, I am sure.

I would agree on the white kilt, but if you want a white jacket you can either have one made of find a shop that sells uniforms to cruise ship employees. A captains mess jacket would work fine.
