Latin translation?
I need a favor...
I've really been wanting to get the "I never lie! But I am a barbarian." quote from Braveheart tattoo'd on me. Or at least on a t-shirt or something. Anyone out there know Latin, so I don't go getting some gobbily-gook inked onto my arm permantly?
Thanks in advance.

I'm a little rusty, but...
I never lie! But I am a barbarian
EGO nunquam recubo , Tamen EGO sum a barbarus
Little bulky for a tat IMO.
How about;
Truthful Barbarian
Veritas Barbarus

Well, as the Romans say, "Explanatio guadium corrumpit."

A literal translation of "Semper ubi, sub ubi" would be "Always where, under where", which is nonsensical, but funny when it's said out loud.

Yeti, I'm not sure where your emphasis is, but for better sounding Latin, I would suggest:
Barbarus sum, sed numquam decipio
"I'm a barbarian, but I never lie."
btw, the word suggested above by Zardoz would mean to lie down

Quite good. But if you want it a bit shorter, "Barbarus sum sed non decipio," should do.
"I am a barbarian, but I do not lie."
Or, "Barbarus sum et non decipio."
"I am a barbarian and I do not lie."
Also, as a word of warning, classical Latin does not use commas, as far as I know. Medieval Latin may, but classical does not.
Edit: Beloitpiper - I think he just doesn't want bad Latin (gobledegook) on him.

Illiud Latine dici non potest.
Zardoz, I don't think you need the 'a'. Also, you can leave out the 'sum' and it's assumed to be there, which would take it down. But is 'sed', 'tamen' is, I believe, nevertheless. (I'm taking a postgrad Latin course right now). I can try a translation, but I don't have time right now. Have to work on Latin ;)
