My first kilt outing (pics too)
Our local Celtic Bash was Nov 17th. It is my favourite party of the year because I always run into a ton of people that I don't see otherwise. It also happens to fall on the same weekend as my birthday!
So we had approx 15 people over at the house. Only 4 knew that my wife and I would be kilted. I loved the look on our friends faces when they saw us. I even got asked to wear my kilt to a friends wedding next spring.
I took the advice from my other thread. Shirt tucked in, belt(although it's not wide enough), and I wore black boots with some scrunched down socks to the bash, just not around my house.
I ran into a ton of friends at the bash, and even a good number of strangers that had to make a comment about my kilt. Even had my picture taken with a couple girls. Got "the question" a number of times. My thanks goes out to X-Marks for the witty replies I had up my sleeve.
Overall a very enjoyable evening. Both the party and the new found freedom. Can't wait for my next "excuse" to wear out my kilt.

Ain't nothing wrong with the belt, contemporary kilt use whatever belt you like (even a nylon duty belt). Great pics, and look for any excuse like... Oh Crap, today is Friday the 23rd I almost forgot - kilt night! See how easy that was?
