Rolled pleated Kilt
Hi there at all!
I hope you can help me, to find, what i'm looking for. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
Some month ago i've seen pictures of a rolled pleated military kilt, but i can't remember which x-Marks forum it was. I would like to make one for me, but i need the pictures to take a look.
As soon, as someone of you can tell me, which thread it was, you can delete my request, if you like.
Greetings from Vienna,

Hi Daaaaang!
It were photos from a rolled pleat, maybe it was a tartan museum. But much thanx, this one is very good too, because i can see how the pleats are made.
Kind greetings,

On the military box pleat in the drawing,
would you start with a regular box pleat
and fold back both ends of the box? If this
is the way its done, would you make the
box pleats extra deep (overlapping) so
after the second fold, all the folded ends
of adjacent pleats meet?
OR:
Is a military box pleat made by just folding
back the ends of knife pleats? Would this
really be a box pleat or just look like one?

This one is correct. It isn't a box pleat in the same way as a standard box pleat. It starts out as a knife pleat and then it is folded back to where it meets the pleat next to it.

Follow the threads Fluter provided for the way JohnH and I (w2f) used in figuring out how to do the military box pleats. The actual way is a lot simpler as shown in this post:

(One of these days I've got to write up the instructions.)

Much good detail in these threads from
JohnH and way2fractious
There may be more: I just ran a search for threads whose titles contained "military" and "pleat."
