    iPod Touch part Deuce

    IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!

I came home and tried to turn it on, and unsurprisingly it just gave me the now familiar blank stare. So, I figured "what the heck" and plugged it into the computer. Kicked it on and VOILA on it came. Now, it's not a perfectly happy ending. Though everything it's functioning I think it's going to have permanent battle scars. There are some water spots behind the screen, though they're not impossible to deal with when looking directly at it (which is what I do anyway.) At least I have the iPod back and everything works (including the WiFi and web browser.) I've buried it in a bowl of medium grain rice... 0.69 it's worth a shot to see if it will help any with the screen. Also, it's probably a good idea to see if I can at least ensure no residual water is hiding in a corner waiting to attack it like a virus. Thanks for all the advice. I think I'll try the flower preservation stuff if I can make it over to Hobby Lobby before the flock of giftless husbands make their way this weekend.

Great news Brad but it ends up only playing The Weather Girls "It's Raining Men" consider it a complete and total right off. I had a 2 gig flash drive go through the was and it still works (must've had dirty pics on it but not no more).

    Glad it lives again.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I'd be careful Bradley, you state

    "IT'S ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!"

But if was dead as mutton before and is alive now in my way of think that would make this ...

    a zombie ipod!

It is an undead electronic that has come back from the grave!

If it starts playing Michael Jackson's "Thriller" or Debbie Gibson don't say that you weren't warned...

    Cheers

Well, I've heard of people running their computer keyboards through the dishwasher, so this isn't altogether suprising. But I think if you had wanted to scrub your playlist, there was probably a better way to go about it than to run it through the Kenmore.

Good luck with that. Mine walked out with the burglar, and I'll never get it back.

    Regards,
    Rex.

Good news. Be real careful about running it until it's completely dry though. Residual water is a good way to short it once and for all.

I have to ask...if you add soy sauce to the rice does the iPod taste any better? LOL
Good to hear it's up and running again.

You must have a source of a good vacuum source in the lab. Put in under a bell jar and attach a good vacuum source for an hour. All of the moisture will be gone brother, solid gone.
