Kilted Friday
As many of you know I take off the ‘Casual Friday’ to a Kilted Friday and have been wearing my kilt to work for several months now.
Today, it was the Malcolm tank, topped with my bonnet from Jas. Townsend.
Arriving home, I took my Fiona for her walk down the road, when I noticed a pick up truck coming my way that slowed and the window rolling down. The fella said, “I wish my wife was here! She is Scottish on both sides of her family and we have gone to Scotland and can’t wait to go back. You have made my day, Sir, thank you!” You never know.

Great. I'm really becoming keen on the look of vests in general. I like this. Who made your Malcolm tank?

No, I don't know the kilt maker. I ordered it in 1996 through the Piper's Cove when I lived in New Jersey. I would be interested to know, too especially in looking at their website they no longer sell tanks. I've emailed them to find out.
The town, Kearny Pipers Cove is an interested one. I understand in the 1800s a Scottish manufacturing plant and its Scottish workers relocated there. That Scottish influence and ancestry abounds there still.
From Wikipedia, "The early influx and development of industry in Kearny dates back to 1875 when the Clark Thread Company of Scotland extended its activities to this country by erecting two large mills in Kearny, and adding two others in 1890. These mills brought to Kearny thousands of Scots immigrants."

Would have loved to have joined you yesterday Ern. Boss was out of town again and I pulled a record shift. 0530-0010. 18½ hours. Next week should be better. Dottie just said she'd like to do the Famous Dave's again. Let us know if you're up for that.
