Kilted at the Hiller Aviation Museum

Kilted at the Hiller Aviation Museum

(Thread dedicated to XMTS own cessna152towser)

For the last couple of years that I and lovely Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess have been going to our Bay Area Kilt Nights we have passed by the Hiller Aviation Museum http://www.hiller.org/ that is located next to Belmont (only a couple of miles from the DCB). We thought it would make for a fun day to go to the museum and then head on over to join our friends at the Devil’s Canyon Brewery .

Here are a few pictures from our visit:

The front section of a 1970 Boeing 747-136 (originally a British Airways plane)

Next to one of the engines

Visitors can sit in the cockpit

A lot of controls and instruments!

    More to come

One of the many Hiller Helicopters on display

This machine was apparently in the movie "Agent Cody Banks"

One thing that bugs me about living in the 2000's is that as a child it seemed a sure thing that we would have jet packs. Yet I look around and there are none to be had!

    WHERE ARE THE JET PACKS?

    Right here!

There were many more wonderful displays and very fun (and informative) flight simulators. The whole family had a ball and I would highly recomend the museum as a worthwhile destination.

Gentlemen, please! Jetpacks, urban transport, MEN IN KILTS !

I think I spied a Link trainer in the background. How hundreds of thousand of airmen learned to fly in them still amazes me.
