    how thick hose?

Are kilt hose very thick? I know they are wool but there is wool and there is wool. I am looking for a nice pair of kilt hose that isn't too bulky.

    any suggestions?

I've got a couple of pair of the Gaelic Themes hose and I wouldn't call them thick...certainly not as thin as a synthetic men's dress sock but not as thick as a pair of wool hiking socks.

Gaelic Themes brand are fairly common. I suggest looking at the sponsors of the forum to begin.

McMurdo posted a link before I could get my link edited in here, but STM has an acrylic blend hose that is light weight. They seem to only come in cream color though.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I for one really like the kilt hose from Hawick hose you can order their Lewis Hose line from the Scottish Tartan Museum.

Well, maybe a little, but if you speak slowly & simply to them, they'll usually be able to follow what you're saying.

    ROFL,

I have found that kilt hose tend to be limp and non responsive but once rigor mortis sets in they can be quite thick [gets hat, heads for door, cant reach door ]

topical answer: the first pair of hose I got I would constitute as "medium thickness" and I just got some "piper" hose that are THICK and length for a double 5" roll [or mid thigh on someone who wears a legitimate 36" inseam]
