    Children

I have seen quite a few posts recently where some of our members have made reference and/or posted photos which included their partners, who are often much younger, and/or their children, and it would be an interesting exercise to see whether we kilt wearers are typical of the overall demographic group. Many men never marry and never desire children. Personally I yearn to start a family and then to live long enough to see them grown up and settled, yet there has not yet been a right time in my life to start a family - my only daughter was a honeymoon conception from a very short lived marriage and I was not involved in her upbringing other than financially and shortly after I married Ann her father died and then she was diagnosed with diabetes. Right now my priority has to lie in giving Ann the best quality of life for as long as she lives, and kids are still beyond my horizon. How many here already have children or plan to procreate a new generation of kilt wearers in the future?

I have a daughter that lives in Texas with her mother, and I never get to see her. She will be eighteen in Jan. My wife and I have her son that lives with us he is already eighteen and will be nineteen in Sept. I have been in his life since he was about nine.

Walt and I wanted a large family, but JC was my only viable pregnancy. He's 21 now and off on his own (except for the fact that whenever he deploys, all his civilian clothes/gear and dress uniforms end up back at MY house).

He just got engaged to his sweetie, so maybe grandkids someday. I'm rather looking forward to that, to tell you the truth.

I have 2 daughters. My oldest daughter is 15 and she has the typical teenager attitude (although she thinks kilts are really cool, and still thinks I am for now anyway). My youngest daughter is 12 and loves all things related to animals.

Cessna, my youngest daughter is diabetic so I know the trials involved with dealing with diabetes. My greatest hope in life is for a cure to be found so my baby girl can live a long normal life.

My daughter, Lady Shannon, is 19 and attending college. She is much like me in that her interests are many and varied. She is interested in kilting and is mulling over what style she would like. She is currently working towards an English degree with plans to teach ESL or highschool English. I found it amusing that in her last year of highschool, partly due to my wearing the kilt, I got a reputation as the "cool dad" among her friends. Considering that my wife and I were told we could not have children, we have been truly blessed.

Diane and I both plan to have .
Once we are financially stable we'll start (In about a year) and we'd like between 5 and 8 bairns in total. We want a big family.

My eldest biological daughter lives with her mother on the NW coast. It saddens me.
I received a great stepdaughter (on the edge of puberty). My wife & I have a daughter & son together. We're done now.
I love my children and would never have guessed that I would enjoy parenting.

Twelve years ago, my girlfriend told me she was pregnant... and three months later, she was hit by a drunk driver, and she and the baby were both killed.

I haven't really had a stable romantic relationship since then, and I'm probably too old to have children, now, anyway.

My wife and I plan on having kids when health and finances permit. Both of us want kids, but with my health as bad as it is, and Helena's RA, I don't know if we'll ever have any. My thought is that if we can get my health issues straightened out but it turns out not to be safe for Helena to bear kids, we'll adopt.

I hope a have enough kids to pay for my retirement home, but not so many that I go broke before I reach the retirement home!
