DKM's Meanest of Times
My wife and I were at the local mall yesterday, and I decided to go into Hot Topic, as they occasionally have decent stuff. On a whim, I started looking through their music section. I'm now the proud owner of the Dropkick Murphy's "Meanest of Times" on on vinyl... and for only $18.99!
I gotta say that "Meanest of Times" is by far DKM's best album since Mike McColgan left the band.
I also picked up a House of Pain t-shirt from the clearance section... You gotta support Celtic music in all its forms, right?

Agreed completely. Started with DKM, and once I found Molly, haven't gone back. Just really wish they'd play north of the border...

Love DKM and Flogging Molly. Two different styles of music and both of them are enjoyable to my ear. DKM's The Meanest of Times is probably their darkest production yet. Of course I live in The state of Massachusetts and have seen in person the havoc that the DSS has wreaked on children's lives. The song is very charitable about this really bad bureaucracy. I do use it as the ringtone for when my children call....

I think that's why I like it so much.

That's why I love the Street Dogs. Most of the "anger and issues" left DKM with Mike McColgan.

Good find I have the dkm meanest of times on cd came with a dvd also got em both for about $18.00 best cd yet of theirs. As for flogging molly being better than them that is comparing apples and oranges two completely differant styles. To each his own.

Not really... I'd have paid a bit more, considering It's a double vinyl, with 2 bonus tracks, plus a CD copy of the standard album.

I don't know about the other versions, but the iTunes download version of The Meanest of Times comes with a bonus video. My former roommate shot and edited that video. Too bad I wasn't still sharing a house with him, or I might have met some of the members of the band.
Andrew.
