Tartan ID Help
My latest eBay special.
Anyone have an idea of what tartan it might be?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

I should mention that this was listed by the seller as a "weathered" tartan.

Weathered *what*? That's the important part.
Weathered colors are certainly not my specialty, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that what you have there is a fashion tartan in mostly different shades of brown. Otherwise, I'd be looking for a tartan with blue, green, probably some black, a little white and/or azure, and *lots* of yellow, or maybe light green. No red whatsoever, unless that brown line close to the white line of the same width is supposed to be red.

I suspected it was a fashion tartan, but with the seller simply saying that the fabric that he got from an estate sale had no tag as was in weathered colors I thought I would ask the experts. In modern or ancient colors, I have the resources to take a stab, weathered colors always get me.

The closest I could get was the
Corps Suevia Heidelberg Clan tartan
but I do not believe that it is it. I would wager that it is a fashion tartan.
You can check out http://www.house-of-tartan.scotland.net tartan #3205 for a picture to compare it to.
Good luck!

Sorry...I thought it might be an Irish county tartan at first, but my search was fruitless. I would suggest keeping an eye out for the sett pattern and go from there.
