Getting Married
Hello All!
I thought I'd post to say hello and thank you all for providing such a great resource.
I'm a Scot, born in Dumfries, but living in Dublin since I was 9 (Irish accent an'all). I wear a kilt regularly and I'm quite lucky that no one bothers me, though that's probably because I'm 6'9".
Anyhoo, I'm getting married in two weeks to a New Yorker who now lives in Dublin. The wedding will be in Syracuse and naturally I will be wearing a kilt. The chosen tartan is the County Derry tartan due to family links, but more to do with the fact that the colours won't clash with the bridesmaids outfits - HMMMPH!
This site has proved invaluable in convincing me not to take any of my seal skin sporrans with me to the states. Phew! I've decided to order one from a company based in Colarado so I should be in the clear customs wise.
It's good to see that this website exists, I'm glad to see I'm not alone in thinking that a kilt is just normal everyday wear.
Cheers!

She's wonderful, and she was surprisingly effective at getting reluctant groomsmen to wear kilts.
I don't know what she said, but it left them shaking.

Welcome, and congrats!
Being a Coloradoan, I'm curious who you ordered your sporran from, if you don't mind me asking.

I got it form these folk http://kiltrental.com/. A couple of my US based groomsmen used them and that's how I learned about them.

Thanks! That's a terrible website, though.
