DIY#2 Starts

Well I got the fabric on my last JoAnns trip the other day. I just could not wait. Got it all set, I will put needle to it in the a.m. Maybe I'll be done in time to wear it to work. If not My birthday is in a couple of days, of course I will have to test drive it first.......

I've got the same fabric but I'm planning to make knife pleats. It's always interesting to see the difference, though you'll likely have worn yours out before I even finish mine.

I hope you haven started sewing yet!? You should turn your tartan. The twill line should run from upper left to down right. Basicly you are working on wrong side of fabric.

Yea I saw that when I started. However I do not always stick to the "rules" as I am pretty sure my Highland ancestors were not always spot on when kilting up. I just liked the way it looked, I am sure the kilt police will forgive me. But thanks for watching out.

Nothing bad ment by the comment. Thanks for watching out for a budding kilt maker. Well got to go press pleats before going to work. Hope to finish the new one tonight, so I can give it a test drive for my Birthday dinner with the family on Sunday.

Well all here is #3 DIY. I am going to start on one for the wife next same tartan, she wants one to match. Hope to get out this week for maybe #3...
