Well, since I already made the prerequisite post in the newbie forum, the next logical step is to ask a question so here goes.
Getting married next month and will be wearing kilt with a Prince Charlie and vest etc. The one issue I am running up against is with regards to the dress sporran.
My lovely bride-to-be is both a vegetarian and a veterinarian. Due to this she is VEHEMENTLY opposed to me wearing a sporran that has any type of animal fur (although she does not mind leather only).
My question to the masses is what are my options? I have searched extensively for sporrans that are faux-fur with no luck, or maybe I am just missing them. Are there dress sporrans that are leather only?
Hi Glen,
There are many leather dress sporran's on the market. The arched cantle is the typical dress sporran. Scotweb (plug for a sponsor) has many styles of dress sporrans with plain leather.
Cheers, and welcome.

Thanks so much for the info. For some misguided reason, I thought that dress sporrans were only fur and was a bit uncomfortable with the thought of wearing my day sporran. This will make things much easier on me.
I would recomond an imitation fur and silver mounted sporran. Here is a link to some at The Scottish Tartan Museum, run by Matt Newsome. It's also L&M made.. so fake or not it well be one of the best made sporrans you'll own. On a side note, can I ask why she's okay with the skin of an animal but not the fur, which after all, is just shaved off to get the plain leather?
