Williamsburg Scottish Festival
The Williamsburg festival is just over 3 weeks away. I was just wondering where the Krova members and anyone else who is interested, could meet at the festival. It is at a new venue this year, so I don't know much about the festival area. However, I'm sure they will have a beer tent or area and a whiskey tasting area. Perhaps we could shoot for meeting at one of these, or maybe pick a place from the field layout:

As for time, I'll be there from just about the time the gates open until around closing, so everyone make some suggestions at to what is best for them.
After the festival, maybe we can schedule a kilt night. I'm hoping the TKW or someone knows a good place for that. I'm staying overnight at the Comfort Inn on Richmond highway. If no one else has any suggestions, My wife and I usually have supper at the Red Hot and Blue resturant on Richmond road. It's just up the road from my motel and is easy to find. The barbecue there is good and they have a few local beers. However, we are not locked into that location and would like to try other places. One bad thing about Red Hot and Blue, the parking lot is fairly small and I've trouble parking once before. I finally made my own space that time by driving my 4x4 pickup up onto a grassy area. I hope that by posting this 3 weeks before the festival we can get a large group together, for some pictures and such. Once we can get the details together, one of us can post them in the "Kilt Night" topic.

My Suggestions
I’ll be there! Here are my suggestions. I’m familiar with Red, White & Blue and think it may be too restrictive in moving around. I suggest we consider the local color and have the kilt night at Chownings Tavern at 7 PM. Is it possible to have this on Friday night rather than Saturday?
For the meet up take a look at the events and entertainment schedules. We don’t want to conflict with “What’s Happening!” I suggest 3 PM on Saturday. I convening the Clan MacCallum Malcolm tent so I’m offering that as the place and you can enjoy the hospitality of the Clan. What say you?

The clan tent is fine with me, but Friday is out. My daughter is coming in on Saturday from Roanoke to take care of our dogs and livestock (Chickens and geese) and she has to work on Friday, so I have no one to lock them up. If I leave them out overnight, the raccoons will kill most of the chickens. The geese can take care of themselves

I'll be there. I'll bring Kilted Rebel with me. 3pm sounds good as long as Albanach or Barleyjuice aren't playing then. That gives you an idea where I'll be.

Okay, so 3PM at the Clan MaCcallum tent for a festival meet. As for Chowning's Tavern for a kilt night, That sounds good as long as there is parking close by. My wife has COPD, so she can't walk far. Let's try and get a list of who is coming.

I "think" I'll be there this year... or so I've been told that I will be.
I know that Barleyjuice is supposed to be playing:
Friday @ 8:00pm
Saturday @ 12:15pm, 4:00pm, and 7:40pm
Other than that... I'm good for a few pints with the kilties.

Jimmy, nice to hear from you. I've been looking forward to this year's festival ever since it was announced that Barleyjuice was playing. Although you aren't as active on the board as you once were, you are one of the founding members.

Iwill be manning the Appin Stewart display in the living history area. If any of you make it over that way be sure and ask for me.
As for gathering in the evening, I'm for it. Chownings is always fun and is kilt-friendly as well.
