    Terry Pratchett's Nac Mac Feegle

Is anyone else here a fan of Terry Pratchett?
I ask with special reference to his Tiffany series as per this link which ties in with my other post in the pics department.

I do realise that the mods might not consider this to be the right forum so won't be offended if it gets moved.

My oldest son is a great Pratchett fan and has always been after me to read some, I can't say I was enthused by what I read, but I think I'll give this a try.

If in doubt... Head but 'em!

The Wee Free Men are AWESOME! I loved the two books with them.

Did you see the movie made after Pratchet's Disc World: Hogfather? Or some such; I'm bad with names...

Got the DVD at home but have not watched my self and it is Hogfather. If your going to read about the Nac Mac Feegle Read "Hat full ot Sky" (I think thats it) it's where they first appear.

My Wife if the Pratchett Fan She's got all of the books and the Yearbooks and the calendars, etc. etc. etc. If I ever find a Model of Atun I'm getteing it for her.

Edit: Darn i should read the whole thread before posting. we also have the Wyrd Sisters Animated DVD

Yes, very definitely a Pratchett fan. The Tiffany Aching trilogy is great.

Long time TP fan, here. The NacMacFeegle actually first made an appearance in Carpe Jugulum. In true PTerry style, the Feegles take certain Scottish stereotypes and turn the wick up so far the knob falls off. :-) But he does it without denigrating the original.

Subsequent research shows that "The Colour Of Magic", produced for SKY TV will finally get to the air in the US beginning November 23 on ION TV. ION ran "The Hogfather" last year (happily, Hogfather got released on DVD almost immediately after the airing...got a copy...love it!).

Keep-a-you-eyes-peeled...not only do we get Tim Curry as the bad guy but Jeremy Irons is playing Lord Vetinari, the Patrician. Irons is perfect...there's a short clip on Youtube with him and it's great.

I'm currently reading "Going Postal" in which the Patrician has a very important role...how Pratchett ever conceived of such a perfect character totally blows my mind. The way that Vetinari manages to keep Leonard of Quirm (Leonardo Da Vinci) under wraps so that he doesn't create any of his devastating weapons for anybody else is such perfect plotting and subterfuge...brilliant!
