Cheap as heck, but nice

Once again Sussen/Highland arms is selling inexpensive, but nice sgian dubh. OK, they aren't top end (someday I will have to post pics of my collection), but they are servicable. Great for those occassions when you want one, but don't want to have a good one. Not to mention this one cost $9.95!

This seller can have a great knock off of a top end knife. I bought one of his "stag horn" knives for US$15 that looked like a more expensive knife. This is that knife:

So, it isn't a Rab Gordon or one from The Real Sgian Dubh Company, but they do the trick if you are looking for a good entry level knife while you save for something better.

Close enough compared to my two real stag ones (one bought from Caulfield leather).

Some time back I bought three cheap (very) ones on e-Bay for $9.95+shipping. . . one lost the "stone" and the blade came loose. I still have two others, and they hold an edge surprisingly well. Of course the blade is in "backward", and I am thinking of getting a bone to use as a handle and remounting the broken one. If I do, I'll post pictures. I do have a really nice one, but I only wear that for dress occasions, if I lose one of these, no big problem.

The blade should have the sharpened edge pointing to the rear when wearing it. However the decoration on the handle would then be against the right leg. That is what I mean by "backwards".

well, the previous owner may have been a southpaw... *shrugs*

i'm going to check them out... they look good for the price
