    Howard Clark Sgian Dubh

I finally got my hands on a beautiful knife by our own Howard Clark. This is a beautiful little blade. My Photography is not doing this knife justice.

You can see the pattern welding pretty well and the elk horn handle. The blade is 1086 w/ L6 steel. It's a little smaller than the sgian dubhs you usually see but it's perfect for a sock knife.

There is some beautiful detailing along the top of the blade but my camera won't get a good shot of it.

    Absolutely beautiful.

The pattern on the blade, the plain metal bolster, and the antler handle all make a wonderful knife with a simple elegance.

    Something to treasure

The man knows his way around a forge
    .

Thanks Turpin, but you know, after twenty one years with no other job, I really should know my way 'round the forge.

I really was quite fond of that one, Steve, and almost did not put it out there. The fitting on the end of the handle is actually a ferrule (hollow band with a solid plate for the blade to go through) and made from sterling silver, as is the pin through the handle. That one was a blade made to fit the handle. I really liked that little piece of stag, and it deserved a nice blade. I thought it turned out nice. I am glad you like it.
