Move over Mel Gibson - kilt #25 is a Braveheart!

Having won the kilt on ebay only a couple of weeks ago I watched the movie on DVD again yesterday.

And this morning the postman knocked on my door!

I opened the parcel and started taking the photographs!

Here is the front apron with the added nice surprise of matching flashes which were not mentioned in the auction or expected!

And from the rear, still with the basting stitches.

I put it on to try it - it fitted perfectly and took this mirror shot of the pleats with the stitches still in place before removing them.

Then took it off to capture some details.

You can see how deep the pleats are even with the basting stitches still in place.

    Fringe detail.

    The welcome, but unexpected, flashes.

Time to do some posing with the kilt using tripod and timer - sorry this one is slightly out of focus.

Side view - without the belt!

Wow, that is beautiful. That coarse, heavy material is so wonderful. Be sure to post some more photos without the stitches!

Okay...but remember what happened to Mel at the end of the movie...

Would that be one of the bobilishious kilts, by any chance, Trefor?

    Best

It seems more tweedy than a normal kilt, it's woven by the Islay Woollen Mill apparently.

Yes indeed it is from bobilishious AA and I am really impressed - a real bargain at £119.99 plus £5.50 postage, especially as the flashes were also included! I saw what happened to Mel (as Wallace) again when I watched the DVD yesterday, but the tartan is worn by quite a few other characters in the movie also!

    Well done.

    Just one thing...

...Please don't paint your face blue!

    Cheers

Thanks Glen - I wonder if anyone else has a kilt in this tartan? And more pics to come yet!
