Highland Regiment regulations?
I'm trying to find uniform regulations for Highland Regiments. Specifically order of dress and standards for kilts and accessories. We called it the AR 670-1, or "Wear and Appearance of Army Uniforms and Insignia", in the US Army. But I'm looking for the Highland Regiment equivelant.
Also, I'm trying to find what we called "Drill and Ceremony", or D&C, book. I'm sure the regiments have different names for these, but if you know what they are called, I'd be interested to know.
I'm former Army myself. Army armor, to be exact, but I did several years ROTC and armed drill. I'm just curious as how the Regiments did it.
Any ideas? Place to look? I have no problem purchasing them.

ETA: I notice that they refer to the glengarry as a "lowland glengarry". Which begs the question; is there a 'highland glengarry'...?
ETA2:I also noticed that the kilts are all "Govt 1A Tartan (Tailors/ Officers) Patt No TBC. Boxed Pleats."...interesting.

Looks like they wear the kilt longer than in the past.

Aye, not much a knee to see!
But then I think the camera angle has a lot to do with that.

Yes more how the photos were taken than anything else.

They are horrible photographs of ill-fitting garments. The kilts are too long and seem to be a size (or two) too large.. The jacket too seemed to belong to someone else.. way too large and for someone much taller and with longer arms than he. Since there were only a limited number of prototypes, ones to fit him were probably to be found on show elsewhere.. They don't seemed to have even bothered to press and steam things before the photo session. nor given him a mirror (have a look at his necktie).. Given the reaction to the impending demise of the old Regiments and the introduction of cheaper, possibly imported, uniforms perhaps all intentional :-)

Todd,
I see that under the Royal Regiment of Scotland it lists sergeants as Senior NCO’s, so I guess that would make a lowly Staff Sergeant like me a Senior NCO in their eyes but not in my fair army.

The British Army ranks roughly equate to US Army ranks thus:
UK ..............................................USA
Pte .............................................Pte
LCpl............Junior NCO...................PFC/Spec
Cpl.............Junior NCO...................Spec/Cpl/Sgt
Sgt............Senior NCO...................SSG
SSgt..........Senior NCO...................SFC
WO2..........Warrant Officer 2...........MSG / 1st Sgt
WO1..........Warrant Officer 1...........Sgt Maj / Comd Sgt Maj etc
Some British officers say that a Sgt is a NCO rather than a SNCO (but they're wrong!). We would treat any 'foreign' Sgt as a SNCO.
p.s. I passed through Kansas City on my way to Fort Leonard Wood in 2007 for a couple of weeks!

Forgive me for being a bit off-topic, but then are there no Sergeants-Major or the like in the British Army?
