Leather tooling attempt
Let me share my first attempt at leather hand tooling.
The design is transferred onto the leather by carving with a ceramic blade:

After some tooling around with bevelers, backgrounders, and more carving:

My first attempt at dyeing leather, much less dyeing anything:

The design is from one of the leathercrafting books by Al Stohlman.

Wow! Great job. I've been doing leatherwork for years and never had the gumption to try tooling like that. Is it carved at all? That's my balking point. Maybe I'll have to get brave!

Thank you Bob! Yes, it's carved. The very pretty lady at the store (Tandy) was truly helpful as she supervised my efforts. That's the best situation, when you have an experienced leathercrafter around to ask questions to.

ARRRGGG! The flashbacks that peice brings! I did SO many of those in my classes.
Really good work!
I may have to do a few more to get the dust off the skills.
