    The nerve of some people

Easter weekend we were invited to my wife's brother's house. He has a boat and every time we go there, the boat needs some kind of work.

    Problems with the weekend
    1. He had not told his wife we were coming. For the umpteenth time
    2. Rained all day Saturday. Not fun at the beach.
    3. His wife refused to let me wear my kilt when we went to the Irish bar Sat night. I have not been told what to wear since I was 10.
    3. I decided to get pished, Knowing darn well that she does not like that either.
    4. Had a shot of Maker's Mark.
    5. Spent most of weekend teaching bil how to reupholster boat seats without correct tools.

    Good things this weekend.

    1. Guinness was cold and on draught. And lots of it.
    2. Tried scotch for the first time. Glenfiddich. oooooh, so good.
    3. Drove home.

Tempted to post the moron's email address on X Marks. But I don't want to piss off brother in law.

Sometimes it's easier to stay home and be happy than to visit family I do it all the time! I abhor my wife's family because they treat me like **** so I don't do much of anything with them. Life is good that way

I like my wife's family way more than my own, so I'm sorry they are like that. Fortunately, they all think I'm a computer geek, so I only get stuck trying to fix their computers when I'm out to see any of them.

At the very least you dove into the wonderful world that is whisky. If all you did was that, I'd say it was a weekend well spent. As for making nice with brother in law's wife....I think you played it perfectly.

I get along reasonlably well with my girfriend's family. Their farm is one of the few places I feel short. At 6' 1" I'm above average in most places. Up at the farm I'm 4" below average.

Guinness was cold!? I hope you let it warm up a bit to just cool before you drank it. You don't have to serve Guinness cold to kill the taste like some American brews.

Very correct! A cool Guinness is a great Guinness. If it's too cold, you don't get the true flavor. Try an Irish Carbomb sometime....you'll love 'em!

I would be just so tempted as a quid pro quo to tell her what not to wear either!

    McClef....
I thought about saying, I'm not going unless she wears a skirt. I have never seen her in a skirt.
