Register for the Register
If you haven't registered on the site for the Scottish Register of Tartan, do it now and thank me later.
Great site, easily navigable, great tartan finder and you can get thread counts on any tartan on the site if you're registered.
And last week, I got an e-mail that included all the new tartans that had been registered recently. Ironically enough, one of the first new tartans to be registered on the Scottish Register of Tartans was -- wait for it -- the Scottish Register of Tartans Tartan.
It's a very cool site; I highly recommend it.

I've been sighned up for a while now. I usually don't know what a tartan looks like until I have the thread count.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Thanks for the info, Phogfan86.
Computer generated tartans images are never the best, but I still find the site very useful. I usually look for several different images for a particular tartan anyway, and the email updates and detailed threadcount info from this site is handy.
